The cook started around 1AM. This photo was taken around dawn.

My best explanation would be that, I once ordered a Pear and Gorgonzola salad, It came on top of a pizza

I'd like to address the issue of two entries I called into question in this throwdown, specifically tom b's pizza "salad" and mcyork28's "Whole Packer Salad".

Neither of these entries fit the category description. They simply are NOT salads, which is why I posted this in response to each of them:

I hate to rain on anyone's parade, as I fully understand the time and work it takes to enter throwdowns, believe me, as I've entered many, and lost most of them. However, the REASON we adhere to the definition of a category is simple: it keeps the throwdown on track, and prevents an "anything goes" approach that could marginalize the efforts of those who stuck to the category and put the time and effort to build their entry as such.

That said, there are rules to entering the Throwdowns, and they are very simple:

In particular, rule #4:

4. Entries must match the featured Throwdown category. It is your responsibility to read the opening post in the Throwdown which you plan to enter and ensure you fully understand the category before entering it. If your entry does not match the category it could be disqualified by the moderator. No excuses for misunderstanding the category will be tolerated for entries that the moderator finds to violate this rule.
